not enough dropped curbs

It really frustrates me when I am out and about in the community and there not being enough dropped curbs. Also when there is a dropped curb someone is parked on it with their car. People have no consideration for people in wheelchairs. If people did care then they would choose to park somewhere else. I think the government should put more dropped curbs in place for people in wheelchairs like me. Let me know your thoughts on this,

    I can't even imagine how frustrating this is for you @Orbitmaker45 - there definitely needs to be more awareness at least, if not more dropped curbs.

    It's pretty annoying, and I agree with you, but I find the steep camber on some pavements, especially alongside a residential driveway, I find them a real danger; one second you're wheeling along the street, the next heading towards oncoming traffic. I have started slowing right down to cross them.

    Since using my Rollator, I can say that I agree. More needs to be done to improve footpaths for people with disabilities. It is hard to physically lift a Rollator up a Curb and also drop down a Curb backwards. A serious pet peeve of mine is when people park half on the road and half on the pavement. I used to be a Support Worker and it was always frustrating pushing a service user in his wheelchair and coming across either a car in the way or no dropped curb. We had to drop down curbs backwards which was a challenge.

    I see roads where the kerb drops on one side but not the other and I'm not even a wheelchair-user!

    More needs to be done to make environments we use every day more accessible. I have a Rollator Walker, but I find it awkward to get on the bus as I have to tilt it backward to get on, the same goes with curbs. I am looking at purchasing one with a little step at the back that you can push down on to aid you up curbs etc.
