Hi I'm new here, so hoping for some sort of help if anyone as been through similar, I claim pip from 2019 at standard rate, always been 1 year review then a 2 I think it was then so on, not long ago I received the letter to say it was extended to 2031, but my circumstances changed a lot over the last 2 year's, I've lost my 2nd brother to suicide in march of last year, my first brother took his life in 2002, I've moved from Wales to England last July a few months after my brother passing, due to my daughter's liver hospital being in England, we made that choice to be closer and I needed it to get away and start fresh because my MH was taking an hammering. Anyone sorry for rambling on I'll get back to myself now, so I've been on pip since 2019 for anxiety disorder and severe depression, I was seen by many of people through the years, but last march I was made to see the mental health team in Wales who were prescribing me sleeping tablets and others to help along side my anti depressants, because the Dr would not prescribe me more than the usual recommendation of low amounts, so the MH team referred me to see a physciatrist and was out on a list, but then I moved, I was here near a year and I was still on that list, had to chase this up here (very stressful and made me so low) finally got through and had an appointment to see one which I am currently under now and been diagnosed with EUPD, and insomnia along side my ongoing anxiety and depression, I now take the right mediation which I should have been recieving years back to help with my sleep and EUPD, and my depression and anxiety, it's now managed better, not alot of change but now I understand more of what is going on with me, for year's I have always wondered why I am so different and felt ashamed of the person I am to most, but it made sense to me now and felt relief from it in some sort of way, but also felt really low to know I am always going to be this way too. Anyway back to the pip my partner always said I definitely filled my forms wrong or should have been awarded more because I don't hardly anything for myself, my partner is basically my carer, I don't leave the house without her I can't and won't do any public transport, I hate being around others I just simply can't do it, and won't ever enter a shop or supermarket it drives me insane. Anyway so my partner rang the pip line up and asked for them to send a form out so I could update my diagnosis on there, and redo the form, I've filled it all out didn't leave anything out and needed more space on some parts of it, so I wrote more under the boxes, I've added my current repeat prescription list like they ask under that section, and my diagnosis with my other ones, and added the physciatrists write up when I was diagnosed. Took me 2 days just to look at the letter and so much distress over it, it was finally done today and sent, but now I have done this I have this massive anxiety over it all it's making me feel so low since I asked for the letter to be sent, I've gone over this numerous times in the past with my partner saying this isn't right you should be accepted for what you should be getting, and I've always pushed past it because I'm to anxious about it all. And now I feel I wish I didnt do it. I'm hoping someone else ha been in a similar position and can help with any advice as to what to expect. Thanks for taking the time to read this because I do ramble on sorry for that

Hi @Manicman81 thanks for being so open and sharing. I've seen a lot of members feeling similar worries and anxiety with their claims. It's an incredibly daunting process so it's completely understandable. I have however, seen a lot of positive outcomes recently, and from what you've explained it sounds as though you've now got more backing evidence to support this additional diagnosis.

I've added an additional tag which will hopefully help our members who have been through something similar to see this, and provide their experience. 😊

Hi, first of all, I'm so sorry for everything you've been through. Losing one sibling to suicide is heartbreaking, but losing two is an unimaginable amount of grief. On top of that, moving home, supporting your daughter, and finally getting answers about your own mental health is a huge amount for anyone to carry.

From what you've written, updating your PIP claim because your circumstances have changed was a reasonable thing to do. You haven't done anything wrong by letting them know about your new diagnoses and providing supporting evidence from your psychiatrist and your medication list. It sounds like you've been honest about how your conditions affect your day-to-day life, and that's exactly what they ask for.

The waiting can be incredibly stressful, especially when anxiety is already part of your life. Try to remember that sending the form doesn't automatically mean something negative will happen—it simply means they'll review the updated information you've provided. In the meantime, lean on your partner for support and try not to replay every answer in your head, even though I know that's easier said than done.

I really hope you get the outcome that's right for your circumstances. Be kind to yourself over the coming weeks, and remember that you've already done the hard part by completing the forms. Wishing you all the very best, and I hope things continue to improve now that you're getting the right treatment and support. Take care of yourself. 💙

Thanks Holly and Sscarer, not sure how I tag or directly comment back, but yes the anxiety is unreal, I put it off for year's, I knew I needed more help, but just didn't have the right frame of mind, I had so much going on in my life, with trying to go through this process I just left it be even though I knew I wasn't getting what I should be, I just didn't want to face the stress and anxiety of it, I'm not sure I can now if they start asking for further evidence, or attend a face to face, I most certainly won't be able to attend a face to face. But I thank you both for your kind words. I suppose I just wait now, the letter was sent on Tuesday the 4th and received the text to say they have it on the 7th, I thought that was pretty quick for 2nd class. So I suppose I just wait now, I have been going online daily checking to see if anything as changed on the check payment system, I had that from here. I just hope I hear soon. Ps sorry about the long post and long and late reply, I didn't receive notifications for some reason. But thank you again
