Reporting Expenses and Earnings on Universal Credit
Hi
I need help with what I need to report to UC every month. I am getting UC because I am disabled but I am starting a business so I have been moved over to self-employed and now I have to start reporting my earnings or I don't get paid.
I have so many questions about what I need to include in the expenses but no one has replied on my work journal and I can't get through in the UC helpline or Citizens advice.
If anyone is doing this and can help me I would be so grateful!

Hi @Melon365. I don't have personal experience of this but I found some information which might be useful for you:
You’ll need to keep an accurate record of:
- income, or any payments into your business, including cash payments
- expenses, or any payments you made from your business, including cash payments
Read more about keeping business records.
You could be asked to provide evidence such as receipts, invoices, and bank accounts.
I hope that helps.

Hi Rachel
Thank you for the links but I need help with my specific circumstances and how I calculate everything. I can find anything that give a specific formula.
Kind Regards
Melon

Are you able to tell us a bit more about your circumstances?

Yes. What do you need to know?
My main question is do I need to include the household bills in my expenses even if I am not the one paying them? And if so how to I calculate how much I use?

My local job centre just called me and I got it all sorted and they answered my questions! 😊
