Not if this forum is anything to go by!!!

I survive on a pittance, use a foodbank and don't complain about ''the cost of living'' (where did we find that phrase?). I can't support myself through earnings so I'm grateful to have a roof over my head, enough to eat and clean running water, all paid for.

Holidays, haircuts, meals out don't happen but that's nobody else's fault!

Well said @WhatThe. Some people will never be satisfied, no matter how much money they have.

I don't think money can buy happiness, some of the world's richest people seem utterly miserable and only driven to find more.

That said, a lack of money can certainly bring misery and adds stresses to life that tip the scale.

I think security brings happiness. Unfortunately security is often linked with money as we live in a capitalist world.

    Short term probably.

But in the highly unlikely event that Lottery ticket I just bought for tomorrow night's good for more than a tenner, I'd be worried about losing my benefits for going over the £16K limit.

I remember writing something about this a life time ago.
Some poor person won the lottery big time. and found that all her friends changed. people asking what its like, but really saying let me have some you have loads.
Its nice, but once you bought a Yacht, a watch, and house, car, cloths the novelty wears off. and you become a recluse.

So to help, seeing as I am coming to the end of my life. I offered to take ome of the stress from her and just pay her enough to get by on? Na, got what I want, just can't get everyone else to agree with me.

They say I'm a grumpy old git. But at least I am a happy grumpy old git.

I think happiness seems to come from good health, friends and family.I think if you have these then you are incredibly set for life.Without these life seems to ve empty and worthless

Money can help but it does not make you happy.

Most people do not even know they are happy until they are not.

Being happy is personal not what the advertisers tell you, last years what ever is cheaper than this years and still does the same job but cheaper.

Enough is good so you don't worry, but what is enough? Pay the bills? Or more? Certainly, not having enough to live on and pay the bills is very stressful. But good health, friends, loving family etc can offset that stress.

I wanted enough to have a retirement where bills didn't fret me. Luckily I managed that. Also, we don't live in the usa and I don't pay health bills helps!

No I don't think lots of money can make you happy. Unless it is used to do good for others. Think Gary Lineker et al. There are those who have millions and use it to benefit not just themselves but others. That would make most people happy. As I have always said you can't eat money?
