    join the club! I didn't know it then, but i was also rubbish at PE, due to muscular dystrophy.

    I didn't say I was rubbish at PE; only the high jump and the long jump cos I'm not very tall 😅

    That's really not true at all. Simpsons introduced the storyline because of the increase in diagnosis, not the other way around. It was a satirical episode based on presumed overdiagnosis at the time and the use of pharmaceuticals. It also didn't make it 'cool', the medication (Focusyn - a parody of Ritalin) made Bart develop severe paranoia

    Some of the medical professionals in the show have spoken out to say their comments were misrepresented and taken out of context.

    I've not finished it but have found it very interesting so far, although there is lots I disagree with too.

    I watched this last night. While I disagreed with quite a bit of it, I could understand some of the points that he was trying to make.

    But to me, it felt quite biased towards one particular view. It felt like he only really spoke to people who confirmed his ideas, and it would have been good to hear from people who challenged his view for some balance. It's been interesting to read how some of the experts feel they were misrepresented too.

    Like a lot of things, I don't think it's ever helpful to completely discount one particular approach when treatment outcomes can be so different from person to person. And I'd worry that programmes like this just add to the negative stigma around ADHD.

    Psychiatrists are no different to other professions, that is one could probably round up half a dozen or so, who share, or are sympathetic to your opinion on the matter.

    Of course, psychiatrists aren't infallible, same goes for any other profession including journalists and documentary makers. 😄

    The human nervous system is very complex, and in my opinion, it is unlikely that doctors know exactly how it really works …
