Mortgage with 100% benefit income
Hello!!
My wife and I care for our disabled twins aged 12.
Because we are both full time carers for them we cannot currently work given the advanced care needs.
Has anyone had any luck navigating this field?
We have lived in our home for 10+ years and my sister in law owns the house outright. They want to sell it to us for what they bought it for which is about 76-80k. The current value of the property is an estimated 110-120k so we have gifted equity to bolster our application.
So far the lenders I've spoken to require at least one participant to work and so we are not eligible.

Hi @Calico and welcome to the community. That's wonderful that your sister in law is willing to sell the house to you. How are you and your wife coping with being full time carers? Do you feel you, and your twins receive enough support?
Being on benefits can make getting a mortgage more difficult. Here's some information for you MoneyHelper.
Have you spoken to an independent mortgage adviser? They are able to look at lots of different options for you and will know which lenders are more likely to approve your application.

Hi,
If you do find a lender who is willing to offer a mortgage without a working party, please do let us know. It's something I've tried to find as well, although no luck so far.

Unfortunately, I don't think the majority of legit Mortgage brokers would touch anyone on benefits with a surgically enhanced Bargepole due to potentially repayment difficulties.
