Pip back pay - different amounts
Hi can anyone help me please, I've been awarded pip and I'm due some back pay, when I rang the alternative phone line it can me a different amount from when I spoke to some one, does anyone know if dwp can take money from back pay for my water arrears as I'm paying them through my uc each month.

Hi @Peggy0011. Water arrears are not usually taken from PIP backpay. If you are paying them through your UC I can't see any reason why your PIP would be affected.
Is there quite a big difference between the amounts?

Hi thank you for your reply, yes to be honest there was a big difference that's what made me think of water arrears as I don't owe dwp any money at all

Which phone number did you call? You should receive a letter soon that details the amount of your award which should have the correct information.

I think it may bee because the alternated phone line give you your monthly amount and dates, but doesn't give you your back pay amount you have to speak to the advisor to be told the BP amount
