    Hello @leedsrhinos

    Welcome to the forum.

Of course you can claim ESA. Whether you get any money is another matter. Put the claim in and see what they come back with. Worse case you won't get any extra money but will get NI credits worth £900 per year free of charge.

If you stopped work due to an accident at work or a disease from work look in to industrial injuries disablement benefit.

Is your husband getting carers allowance for you? If not then he can backdate his claim to when your PIP began provided he does so within 3 months of you getting PIP.

You may also be able to get Universal Credit - call 0800 144 8444 for the free Citizens Advice Help to Claim service who can advise on this .

    Hi welcome to the community.

You can apply at age 61.

If you are illegible it is payable up until state retirement age and then you get your state pension.

I took early ill health retirement and I get a private pension.

A certain amount is deducted from that and my national insurance contributions are paid towards my state retirement pension.

I already qualify for a full state pension based on that.

The best thing to do is request the application form and get help from Citizens advice or a free advocacy service.

    Good luck.
