voluntary course meetings while on LcWRA

i’m on LCWRA and my work coach has floated some "voluntary" meetings about doing courses

has anyone else had this?

trying to figure out if "voluntary" is a trap, and if turning them down is going to mess with my benefits

    I didn't think LCWRA claimants had a work coach? I certainly don't.

    If the meeting is voluntary, I wouldn't imagine it's any kind of 'trap'.

    Hi @SlowMode. This called the 'Pathways to Work' programme and it is entirely voluntary. It is absolutely fine to turn it down if you feel you would not benefit from it.

    Do you think you will say no?

    I literally got one of these today too!! I get a message most months PLUS the giant post about it on my account home page too, that reappears no matter how many times I press to hide it!!

    I've always ignored them as I'm not in a position right now, but there was a time I was getting them fortnightly and it felt like so much pressure

    I don't think it's a trap but the more paranoid part of me does wonder if they look at those who engage with these and decide they are capable of work related requirements, meaning no longer eligible for the 'ra' part of LCWRA. Especially at review!

    Feel like they'd be better off giving proper information about it rather than a generic advert
