Indefinate dla to pip

Hi, ive just read that the remaining people on indefinate dla are to be sent out letters in this month (September) to be moved over to pip. I thought it wasn't going to happen for a while yet, can anyone confirm if this is true? . If it is then I don't know what to do as I'm not ready in any way whatsoever and this is causing me to go into absolute panic mode. I'm really worried as I've heard so many people fail the transfer over to pip. I stepped away from reading all the dwp stuff cos it was making me worse but now I need to know what the latest news is with all this stuff so can anyone help. Thanks.

    Additionally to the above, if it is correct then is there anywhere I can get a copy of the pip form to familiarise myself with it?

    Hi, I saw it on the benefits and works news site. I also asked Google if all remaining dla people are being moved to pip. It said yes and that throughout September 3000 random dla people will be sent letters in a trial run to be assessed for pip, and then others will follow but not sure about details on that.

    I've seen this from a reliable source as well. (Though I don't have a link to hand right now). It's not unexpected, DLA claimants were meant to be moved to PIP years ago. It also seems to have been part of the reason for extending existing PIP claims over the summer.

    What matters for PIP is the descriptors, the questions on the form aren't quite worded the same which can cause confusion. There is a list on the B&W site that offers additional information on each one but I like this list as it's very clear and simple.

    PIP is still split into Daily Living and Mobility separately. You need 8 points for a Standard award, or 12 points for an Enhanced award.

    I know it must be daunting thinking about swapping over @lily84, but try to take each day as it comes.

    If the day does come around where they ask you to apply for PIP, it's worth getting some advice from a benefits adviser. They might be able to help you feel more prepared and in control of things. You can find one using this search tool:

    They should be able to talk you through the differences in the two benefits and help you make the most of your PIP forms. But I'm sure our members would be happy to help too. I can see OverlyAnxious has already shared the descriptors above, so it's a good start to familiarise yourself with those and start to think about how your conditions might fit with them. Hopefully it'll go nice and smoothly for you when it happens ☺️

    Thanks overlyanxious, Rosie and wibbles.

    I will take a look at the descriptors, and hopefully seek CAB advice when the form arrives but I'm really hoping I'm not in the first batch of people in the September assessments. Whenever I have to deal with the dwp my anxiety goes through the roof. I already have memory problems so trying to explain specific things is really hard for me as my mind goes into overdrive and into panic mode so I end up rambling a lot.

    Wibbles - I took a brief look at the pip form but it doesn't contain the descriptors so I'm a bit confused. Does the pip form come in two parts?

    The form that Wibbles provided is the PIP1 form. Most people never see that one as it's usually completed over the telephone instead.

    The descriptors are on the PIP2 form which is linked below - there are a lot of pages to this one so it's easy to get overwhelmed.
