Accepting things you can’t change
hi
Very long story short.
chronic illness all adult life
Worked full time until
Hysterectomy resulted in life changing complications- 3 stoma bags. The hospital were awful / made me believe I’d recover etc - I never took legal action. 11 years on health is deteriorating still have the bags but I am stable . I can’t get past the hospital though not the NHS- I had insurance at the time went private massive mistake as rules were different. Keep reliving it keep regretting causing depression to worsen . Will never work again which is ok I’m a pensioner but I feel so betrayed - how do I move on

That sounds incredibly difficult @Groundhog. It's so hard to move on from something that's had such a massive impact on your life.
Have you ever sought any counselling or therapy for what you experienced?
If you have a good relationship with your GP, they might be a good place to start as they can often refer you on to some talking therapies.
I'm sure our members will be able to empathise too, so I hope some of them will offer some kind words and advice soon.
