in Universal Credit (UC)

Hello, can someone please help me?

My ESA ended on 31.08.2026, and I received £42 on 02.09.2026 as my final ESA payment.

My UC assessment period is from 29.08.2026 to 28.09.2026, and I am wondering how UC will calculate this in my assessment statement.

Will UC take the full usual ESA amount of £414.05 into account for this assessment period, or should they only take the actual final payment of £42 into account in my UC statement, considering that my ESA ended on 31.08.2026?

I would really appreciate it if someone could clarify how this will be calculated.

    UC should deduct the amount of ESA that you received in the Assessment Period, which is £42.

    If more is deducted, you can raise a dispute via your Journal.

    That's what my understanding was however they came with different answer and not sure what will happen once statement generates

    I wouldn't rely on DWP staff to give accurate information unfortunately.

    It's best to wait for your statement, and raise a dispute if the deduction is incorrect.
