What advice would you give to others?

I find I'm good at giving advice but don't always listen to myself, anyone else? 😅

I found these answers interesting:

    Live within your means. My parents fought in WW2 so lived through some tough years and brought me up not to scrimp but don't buy it if you don't really need it. It's stood me in good stead all my life.

    I think that's a great one @vikingqueen, in my experience it isn't taught enough.

    Try Again
    by William Hickson

    'Tis a lesson you should heed--
    Try again;
    If at first you don't succeed,
    Try again.
    Then your courage should appear;
    For if you will persevere,
    You will conquer, never fear,
    Try again.
    Once or twice though you should fail,
    If you would at last prevail,
    Try again.
    If we strive,
    'tis no disgrace
    Though we did not win the race--
    What should you do in that case?
    Try again.

    If you find your task is hard.
    Try again;
    Time will bring you your reward,
    Try again;
    All that other folk can do,
    Why with patience should not you?
    Only keep this rule in view,
    Try again.

    Stick To the classics:

    Know Thyself.

    And

    Unto Thine Own Self Be True.

    (Thats actually three btw)

    Can you explain 'And' please @Epistle_Rich?

    I definitely agree with living within your means @vikingqueen and @kreacher. My mum always taught me to be sensible with my money and save. I've passed this on to my 16 year old son who has now started to save. He does spend money on frivolous things sometimes but he's only young and as long as he isn't asking me for money I can let it slide!

    My advice would be enjoy the little things. Take notice of small moments and be more present in the world. For example, making a cup of tea and noticing the rising steam, the water changing colour and the heat on your hands.
