I'm talking about a person with moderate learning disability with scenery issues and challenging behaviour who refuses to use the toilet due to phobia and support staff have less time for positive reinforcement due to other service users needs so they resort to using incontinence pads. Do you think over time this would have an effect on the service users continence and make them incontinent? Thank you?

    Hi bobby basic and welcome

We are not able to give medical advice on the forum.

However from a common sense point of view, the longer these are worn and no control is required then the less the body will be able to control the urge so retraining will probably be needed. Similar to how a baby is taught.
