I've got my letter stating Tribunal is at the end of the month - any comments or suggestions are appreciated regarding tribunals - prof staff are unable to attend with me so a friend is coming

Hi janice

The tribunal will have read the evidence before you arrive, they might want to clarify points with you so it does not really matter that you have no prof staff with you. The best person to answer anything about how you are affected is you.

My tribunal was the pits.Mind you, my fella pushed my wheelchair into court and from the entrance to the room where it was taking place managed to sabotage three door frames. I think that started me off on the wrong foot.
The doctor was a nasty thinned lip woman with hair sprayed within an inch of it,s life.The magistrate was a portly woman with a kind face and the third was a blind man and his dog.The doctor kept asking me where I got my wheelchair from.Did I hire it? no.does it belongs to a friend,? no.did you buy it,? no, I had it provided along with other items to make life easier I was in about an hour.it made me ill.I don't want to put you off, just be prepared.

My problem is I'm a tall slim blonde who hides illness well bc that's how I was brought up

I relapse whenever I try to do things thinking I'm stronger than what I am

Numerous invisible conditions/symptoms etc but I'm really finding this is slow manslaughter for what I'm experiencing

I know of other people who have not needed to appeal who do not suffer anywhere near the way I do

I'm in bed atm feeling my immune system breaking down as I've not been able to eat or sleep properly due to financial hardship

I have given up with medical appts since I moved - I broke down when I registered at the new surgery in an area I don't know anyone...trying to get a same day first appt to enable me to have Tel appts is impossible... slowly but surely my fluctuating health is most definitely deteriorating but nobody would ever know bc I look & sound ok

I'm hoping I win my Tribunal as it will help me to heal unlike current situation

invisible illnesses need to be taken seriously bc nobody sees suffering home alone in silence

they only see my bravery or is it stupid of me to want to be treated 'normal'?

Hi Janice

In many respects we are all our worst enemy when it comes to PIP. Anyone with a long term condition, learns to manage and adapt, we have no choice. When it comes to assessments we then have to divest ourselves of these strategies and become "disabled" just to appease an unjust system.
It is especially hard for someone with a life long condition, who has been on indefinate DLA, their coping mechanism is even more a part of their life.
All you can do is try and be the real you but without the armour suit of manageability.
