Have you turned the heating on?

No
I have a small oil filled radiator, and that gets used to take the chill off the bathroom for showering. I don't fancy a heated house after a shower, not when putting on all my Gus walking layers.

It's still 24 degrees in my home so no ๐

Heating just the bathroom seems like a great idea @ChrisR777. There's nothing worse than getting out of the shower and it being freezing cold.
Ooh you're lucky @MissMarple!

I'm in Scotland and the heatings been on a few times over the last few weeks , set up the thermostat for winter today .

Yes
Welcome to the community @Audrey7 ๐ I think being in Scotland means you can put the heating on earlier as I know it can be very cold! Are you wearing your winter clothes now? I'm loving being able to wear my cosy jumpers and get wrapped up in blankets.

No
Still 26c in my flat so not even a jumper needed so far.
I have noticed the trees changing colour and dropping a lot of leaves despite the mild temperature. Makes me wonder whether they're using hours or darkness or even angle of sunlight to determine when autumn starts, as it really doesn't feel cold enough for that yet!

How is it so warm where you are @OverlyAnxious? I'm cold!

No
Perhaps you're further North than I am, though I'm not 'that' far South either.
My flat is top floor and South facing, so as soon as the sun comes out it's like a greenhouse in here. We're still getting a lot of bright sun every day though, which I don't remember continuing well into October before. The heat still feels the same as summer, the only difference now is that the sun sets around 6pm so it does get a bit cooler in the evenings.

@Rachel_Scope The winter clothes never really go away here ๐ But yes big cardigans , sweaters and scarves are getting pulled out the wardrobe. The Ber months are my favourite to be honest , jumpers and cozy blankets , hot cup of tea and a good horror movie on , love it ๐งก๐ค

I'm in Yorkshire @OverlyAnxious. Ah being in a top floor flat could explain it. I bet it's great for indoor plants! I'm in a cottage which tends to stay fairly cool even in summer.
You're very similar to me @Audrey7. I adore cosiness and have probably too many blankets ๐

Ah yes, I'm definitely further South than Yorkshire. Cottage sounds lovely. This building is always too hot in summer and too cold in winter.
Indoor plants get incinerated on the South facing windowsill! ๐

Had to turn it on for hours the other day, it was really chilly and I just couldn't get warm!
I'm with you on that too @Audrey7, best time of year!! What's your favourite thing about it?0 -
Yes
I have my heating on in the morning for a couple of hours and in the evening. It is cold here in Manchester and being cold makes me miserable.

Yes
I bet they do @OverlyAnxious!
That sounds sensible @Bluebell21. It's awful feeling cold isn't it? It's why I like to have lots of blankets and thick jumpers. It's like I'm in a cocoon.

I'm in Angus, there have been some cold nights here too, but my thermostat still says 20C. I wouldn't put my central heating on at that temperature. I set it to 18C, no higher.
My De'Longhi heater is surprisingly good, at push i could heat my entire1 bedroom house with it.

Still too warm here in the East, I'm not even in full winter pyjamas yet. The weather is due to turn cooler tomorrow and my bedroom does get quite cold.
I still have window vents open in there but they'll have to be closed soon until about April, I open the windows daily for up to 10 minutes for ventilation.
Loving my 13.5 tog winter duvet which went on the bed a few weeks ago!

I have my windows open all year round during the day, except if it's frosty outside. I use the same duvet all year too, I have never looked back since I got my my mulberry silk duvets and pillows, a worthwhile investment i reckon.

Yes
Ooh your duvet sounds lovely and cosy @Kimi87. My husband hates being warm so our duvet is as thin as paper! I have a blanket on top for extra warmth.
Mulberry silk sounds luxurious @ChrisR777. Do they keep you cool in summer and warm in winter?
0 -
No
I will sound like 'Ray' from Shop On TV, but yes, triple A grade mulberry silk does just that. It will wicks away moisture in the summer, and I the winter, you are glad the duvet follows the contours of the body very snugly. I was skeptical, but am a convert. The pillows are quite soft, but I find using 2 solves that for me.

I'm very intrigued and may have to look into them @ChrisR777!
