They were never needed in your situation. Because you already had WRAG from ESA, you were automatically entitled to LCW in UC.

There was a UC computer glitch that used to ask claimants for Fit Notes before their ESA status was confirmed. I suspect that's the reason you were asked to provide them.

No, I supplied them after being severely and publicly bullied and threatened by the JCP WC. My GP tried to help with fit notes. The head of the JCP admitted it'll never happen again. At the same time, I was caring for my dying mother as well as my dying partner. Both died within months of each other followed by two brothers.

summery - caring for my mother and partner who were both terminally I'll. The UC JCP WC was quite the bully.

Mum and Chrissy died within months of each-other after years of caring for them. Chrissy with CF and a bilateral lung transplant for CF - they didn't pick up on her cancer, thinking the mole was benign. Followed by my two brothers during the same period of uncertainty. My GP sent monthly fit notes after realising I was burnt out as the WC was relentless. I'm not sure the WC realised how demanding caring is.

I am sorry to hear that. If you had the Carers Element on UC then again the Fit Notes were never really required, as that over-rides LCW status and removes all work related commitments. There is also a grace period covering a few months after bereavement that should be applied in a case such as yours as well.

Just for reference, this forum automatically hides posts that could be considered sensitive or triggering until a mod can check them. You didn't do anything wrong, it's just standard practice on here, they will usually reappear eventually.

Ahh, TY for that. Makes sense.
