Disabled Person's Trust

I wonder if you know any charities that would set up a Disabled Person's Trust for my adult son with Schizophrenia and Severe Physical Health issues who is housebound. I tried Mencap but they only deal with learning disabilities or autism so I cannot use them.

I need a charity who would act as Executor and Trustee and sell my property and buy a property for my son to live in.

I need a charity that isn't going to have fees that would wipe out my son's inheritance. I tried Rethink but they don't act as Executor and they have high fees that are charged by independent companies they would use eg management companies for the house etc etc.

Not sure what to do solicitors charge too much that it would wipe his inheritance out within 5 years.

If I don't get a trust his Universal Credit and housing benefit will stop.

Can you please advise?

Hi @Puzzledx and a warm welcome to the community from me!

Scope isn't able to act as Executor and Trustee either I'm afraid but we do have information on
trusts to support a disabled person that may be helpful to explore😊

I'm not aware of any other charities apart from Mencap that can but hopefully some of our members may be know and be able to support and advise.

you're better off buying the house now while you're still alive.
