Looking for Advice on an Affordable Mobility Scooter

Hi everyone,I am a postgraduate student living in London, and I am looking for some local advice or institutional guidance regarding mobility support.Due to physical access challenges, I am trying to purchase a compact, portable mobility scooter to help me attend my evening lectures and manage my daily commutes independently. My university disability assessment confirmed that they do not directly provide scooters, and the official Motability scheme is not a viable option for me because they primarily offer large, vehicle-sized models that do not suit my specific practical needs or urban living space.I am strictly looking to purchase a smaller, transportable model, but I need advice on where to find external help. I would be incredibly grateful if anyone in the community could share information.

I have a folding powerchair, a FreedomChair DE08L. I would recommend it as a better option to a portable scooter, that is if you intend to travel on public transport.

Thank you, I will search to see how does it work, because this is the first time I am hearing about it.

If you are strong enough to get an efoldi explorer onto a bus I would highly recommend that. I bought one on eBay and I love it. It folds away to fit in a cupboard but is great to ride. However I cannot get both it and myself onto a bus because it has to be folded and pulled and I can only barely struggle on myself hanging on for dear life. I had to buy a power chair (an aero carbon light weight chair that fits behind our front door) in order to use buses. The efoldi is easier to steer and faster and can go over rougher ground and paths and I use it for local journeys but for further afield I have to use the chair and bus.

eBay has lots of scooters and power chairs available at more affordable prices.
