Have you turned the heating on?

No
I haven’t turned mine on yet but after being cold in bed last night (I got up to get 2 blankets) I’ve changed my bed to fleece bedding and winter duvet. It’s sunny today so is warming my house up

I love my wearable blanket but mine only comes halfway down my thighs, I didn't realise they made ankle length ones!! I may need to go shopping 😍 I much prefer wearing these to heating the house

haha that's quite the imagery! If I heat the house I find it too stuffy and end up opening the windows, defeating the point. Obviously there is a limit to that, and being in London it's often warmer than other places anyway

I had the thermostat set to 18C as I sat last night, the heating came on briefly on two occasions. I wouldn't enjoy excessive heat either. The bathroom and a small living room window were open a crack too.

Heating on? Yes, I'm wearing clothes.
I've also got socks and dressing gowns if I feel chilly plus a hot water bottle and even a heated throw when it's proper cold! My electric blanket is on already but my windows stay open all year round.
Anything is preferable to those heatwaves, for me ☃️

I’ve lit 🔥 my wood burner last 3 nights, but been to warm with my oodie on so I’ve had to open the back door and dining room windows, still need my bedroom cool and always sleep with one window open. (ATM)

I think I will be using it before end of October, I can no longer reach my heating controls though. The carers get very confused, so I am likely to need to get my sister to program in automatic timers and leave it on auto which of course means it will be used on occasion when not needed wasting money and might be off when I want it on.
I am going to see if I can find a controller that links up to a smart phone app and then request my landlord to pay the engineer to fit it.

I've had to change my answer as I have now succumbed to the cold and have had the heating on. It's only been for brief periods but it's definitely needed when any of us are having a shower!
Has anyone else put theirs on now?

You're braver than me @Anhedonia2 😂 It's my hands that I really struggle with. They're like ice blocks.
Welcome to the heating on gang @kreacher. It's nice and warm here 😉

The rain coming straight of the North Sea last night when I was out with Gus for 2 hours, coming home to dog mess all over my tyres? Yes, I certainly did put the central heating on! 👨🦼🐕☔️💨

Yes
I have recently started putting it on almost every night as it's starting to get pretty cold.

I think that's a very reasonable reason to put the heating on @ChrisR777!
I'm not keen on putting it on everyday just yet, but we'll see how cold it gets.

I haven’t yet but every day I get a little closer!! I hope to keep it off until November at least

We put the gas fire on in the living room this morning - the CH stays off until November !

Yes
Hmm I didn't think whether fires counted as heating or not @Wibbles. I guess they don't as they are only in one room. I have a small fire in the snug which I've had on as it's been really chilly and my fingers get too cold to type!

I don't have CH but have had to put the fan heater on for a couple of hours this week to take the chill off.
My feet were getting really cold last week until I realised I was still wearing summer socks and had some thicker ones I could get out. They aren't so bad now. 😅

Yes
Does the fan heater keep you warm enough @OverlyAnxious? I've had my thick socks on for a while now. Today I'm wearing thick socks and slippers for ultimate cosiness 😆
