Anime, animation, cartoons - are you a fan?

I was inspired to make this post after talking to @GemZee about our shared love of anime. I love a good cartoon or adult animated series and I especially love stopmotion like Wallace and Gromit and Coraline.

Are you a fan of animations or do you think they should only be for children?

    Probably to the disgust of my family, I'm a huge animation fan of all kinds - anime, Disney etc, more grown-up animation (things like South Park, The Simpsons etc). So it'll be no surprise that I think animations can be for everyone. 😂

    I think they can be for anyone. I don't watch them that often, and I don't really watch any new stuff, but I still enjoy some of the stuff I liked when I was a kid like Trapdoor, Terrahawks, Vicky The Viking, Ox Tales, there's probably others that I can't think of right now.

    I'm a big Wallace and Gromit fan too, or anything Aardman really! The silly humour is just right up my street. I also love Pixar and Studio Ghibli films. The Ghibli art style is beautiful!

    I don't tend to watch many shorter cartoons myself all that often, but my partner is a huge fan, so I end up watching them with him. He likes South Park, Family Guy, American Dad and just about anything geared towards adult audiences.

    He's recently watched Krapopolis on BBC which he enjoyed - it's about a new civilisation in Ancient Greece and has Matt Berry and Richard Ayoade in the cast.

    Did anyone see the film K-Pop Demon Hunters? I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did!

    @Rosie_Scope I'm glad to hear that your partner likes ones geared towards adult audiences. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. 😂 I thought I wouldn't like K-Pop Demon Hunters but I loved it.

    I haven't watch K-pop demon hunters yet but I will. I didn't think it would be for me but I've heard really good things.

    Has anyone watched Over the Garden Wall? It's absolutely beautiful, strange, and Elijah Wood is one of the main characters!

    @GemZee I also love the Simpsons, South Park, Rick and Morty, and Superjail!

    @Rosie_Scope I'm obsessed with everything Studio Ghibli. They're so magical and the amount of work that goes into them is astounding. Do you have a favourite? I think mine would be Spirited Away.

    @Rachel_Scope I'm glad I'm not the only one to like those. I've not heard of Superjail though. I think my favourite Studio Ghibli is Kiki's Delivery Service, followed by My Neighbour Totoro.
