Hyperplasia and full congenital cervical fusion

I had an MRI recently and my GP came back to me saying I have spondylosis and a nerve impingement in the neck effecting my left arm.

I took a look at the MRI report and my GP didn't mention I have full congenital cervical fusion of the C6-C7 vertebrae which is the most important finding. Maybe the GP didn't realise what it meant.

The pain gets excruciating and it's hard to use the left hand to pick things up, hold a kettle or a dinner plate. It's an incapacity rather than a disability, my main issue was waiting 5 years to finally get psychiatry involved.

Also had a EMD neurophysiology test and they found a C7 neural pathway is damaged/impeded and he wants me to see a spinal surgeon for a cortisone shot, neck surgery last option.

The neurophysiologist mentioned pregabalin, the thing is the psychiatrist I'm seeing for the CTPSD wants me on Lithium, I'm not sure pregabalin and lithium at the same time is a wise route to be honest.

Hi @JasonRA, that sounds complex! But it's good that they're starting to work out where your pain comes from - even if the GP didn't mention it all!

Would you feel up to explaining to either the psychiatrist or the neurophysiologist that mixing those drugs might be harmful to you? There might be other options that you could try instead and I'm sure they'd be happy to talk things through with you.
