Rent shortfall

Wasn't sure where to go on this, I'm £150 short for rent on Monday, usually my monthly discretionary housing payment and UC cover the rent however due to bills and cost of living I am temporarily £150 short , I was going to let the estate agents and my landlord know tomorrow , but that I will be able to pay the 90% I do have, basically I have paid rent on time consistently since I moved here 5 years ago and then took over as sole tenant in February, I'm worried I'm going to get evicted , I do have a plan to pay the remaining amount the following Monday when my housing payment comes through, I was just looking for advice/ to see if anyone had been in a similar situation before?

Hi @worryworm95, it sounds like you're being very reasonable by telling them in advance and letting them know that you will pay the shortfall. Hopefully by giving them a specific date that they will receive the whole payment, they'll understand.

Do you think this might be a problem that will happen again, or is it just this month? Fingers crossed things work out for you ☺️

@Rosie_Scope Fortunately I've managed to resolve the issue now 🫣 these things trigger my mental health so I make them seem bigger than they are but thank you, its all sorted now.

Oh brilliant @worryworm95! I totally understand how it might be triggering. It's so easy to spiral on this kind of thing, I've definitely been there myself! Money can be a huge worry and when it's something as important as your housing it can be tough not to react. Glad you managed to find a solution ☺️
