Halloween Video

Hello, so this ought to be different.

We have a projector and we are thinking about projecting something on the blinds to be seen outside.

For this reason nothing to detailed, no audio ( but we might use a blue tooth speaker ) so it might work.

Black and white is good, colour if fine, live action maybe, cartoon would work or computer generated.

How I want to do this is a video on computer/laptop with projector plugged into HDMI port. The project will then be pointed at the white blinds and hopefully it will be seen outside on Halloween night.

Any one know of a good video to play, maybe on a loop. At least 5 mins for a loop, longer is fine.

Thank you.

    This sounds like fun @CarNineSix!

    Would something like this work?

    Halloween Projection Spiders Loop

Or perhaps that's too detailed, not sure! I saw this one with a ghost too:

    One Hour Ghost Hologram Projection

Will you have some time to test it out? I bet the neighbours will love it 😄

Hi @CarNineSix. How about this, which you can put on loop...

@Rosie_Scope sorry, the Spiders are too small, the Ghost does not move enogh.

@StarryEyed sorry again to high def.

You can see why it not as easy as I thought, projecting on to the blinds for people to see outside.

Here's a playlist of many really simple ones, mostly not high Def

Hi @CarNineSix. Yes, there are 34 videos in the playlist I sent you in that column you refer to, and those two you posted are in the list. I'm thinking of putting the playlist up on my windscreen during my Halloween party.

    👍🏼😊 🎃👻🧙🏼‍♀️🧛🏼‍♀️🧟‍♀️😱🕷️🫣🙀🩻☠️

    Are you having any celebration?

More for the other half, I'm a boring old fart.

She like light shows, so I am working on a few ideas.

Oh do tell! My Halloween window and mirror stickers just came in and I love them! Tomorrow I'm going to buy some decorations. Are you guys going to dress up? I will, though my costume isn't finished yet. I'm having a small costume party at my house, just eight of us. It's my first house party in four years. It's my first hosting of a Halloween party since about 2009 which was also the last Halloween party I attended. So it's pretty exciting. I used to looooove Halloween. Maybe I'll get back into it again in the future too, not just this year. So your partner likes Halloween but you don't?

@StarryEyed I used to live in the US and Halloween is big there and my wife ( passed 2017 ) used to dress up and I was in charge of the smoke machine. I did not really get in to it but wore a mask. I did not know but it was a hockey mask and and was for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Voorhees and without knowing I scared some kids and adults quite badly.

She said she does but a bit hesitant sometimes.

Oh that's funny about the mask. Oh dear!!! A smoke machine sounds awesome! Do you still have it? That can be one of the nice things in a relationship , that even if you yourself don't enjoy something, you can enjoy your partner enjoying it. 😊

I lived in Canada until 12 years ago, when I moved to Spain. It's huge in Canada too. But it's only just started here a few years ago. This morning I bought the decorations - a spider web table cloth where we'll put the food buffet, and two large glow-on-the-dark paper ghosts to suspend from the ceiling - for just €5. I'm getting so excited!

@StarryEyed The smoke machine stayed in the US. Not sure it would be legal here in the UK.

Yeah, a lot of American stuff is illegal in Canada too.

@StarryEyed hope this works, pointed the projector at the blinds quickly popped out side to see if it would work. This is not the finished article just a test, but you should see what I mean.

Oh that's perfect! Love it 😁 And what a treat to see your mugshot on your channel. Waving to you!! 👋🏼 😁

So are you setting this projector up so the trick or treaters can see it?

That was my picture before the drugs kicked in, now I can close my eyes and I'm not so bouncy . . . . . LOL.

We live in a Bungalow and the blinds are always closed in that room as it is very viewable from the street. The projector has been setup on a temporary shelf working on the final height/tilt adjustment too fill the bay window. Most of this has to be done after dark so the images can be seen

Setting up now, well earlier as can only really be done in the dark.

Put up a temporary shelf to get the right angle, needs a bit of tweaking but getting there.

This is such a cool idea @CarNineSix! I can't believe I've never thought of this. You've inspired me 😊 We'd love to see more videos of it in action if possible! 💀👻

@CarNineSix did you get your projection perfected yet?

I've picked out the videos from that playlist to have on my bigscreen TV during the party. It's simply awesome. Now I'm putting together a playlist of Halloween music to have on during the party. There are tons of Halloween music playlists to pick from on YouTube.

I hadn't seen this yet, looks brilliant @CarNineSix! Do you get many trick-or-treaters where you are?

@StarryEyed not finished fully as have to move some furniture on the night.

An idea for your TV, if you have a sound bar or similar, you could connect a PC/Laptop to the TV and play both Video and Music together. Use one media player for one and another media player for the other. Also beware of sound from the videos clashing with other entertainment.

@Rosie_Scope we don't know how many, we but out some feelers to see if anyone had an idea but there does not seem to be much organization. I'm used to "Trick or Treat" being a two hour event, but we have been quoted somewhere between 17:00 ( 5 PM ) til 21:00 ( 9 PM ) we'll only know after.

But we have a couple of light up pumpkins, illuminated spiders web, blow up ghost and the video for the projector . . . . and the odd sweet or 100.
