Feeling disrespected and depression triggered

I thought I'd do something fun for myself for bday with friends. They made me feel terrible and made me realise I need better people around me. Easier said than done with physical disability and chronic illness.

Guess it's "friends" 🥲 it's always about them even on bday ..

Doesn't help I already feel like my people already don't truly care or want me around, especially worse feelings around my bday for years past with no improvement.

I hope I can shake it off to enjoy

    Sorry to hear your birthday celebration didn't feel great @catsarefluffy, that's not nice at all. Birthdays can be difficult times anyway, but if your friends aren't being supportive it can be even worse. Are they the kind of people you could talk to about how it made you feel?

    Maybe you could plan a little something for yourself to celebrate instead. Like a little self-care day where you eat your favourite things and watch a favourite movie, whatever might make you feel good. Hope things start to feel a bit easier soon 🧡

    @Rosie_Scope hello again hahah

    And I did end up doing something despite being really sick. Hoping for the good feels to soak in later.

    I think it's about not giving people more chances when they've already disappointed me before. I always leave the door open and believe people can change but I always get hurt as a result. Need to be more careful
