Hi have low rate DLA for mobility and need to change my car. can I use this part of my mobility and top it up to have a hire purchase agreement on a new car??

Hi @Cornishpixie,
No I'm afraid not. Low Mobility DLA component doesn't give you access to the Motability Scheme. Motability no longer offers hire purchase agreements either.

I read this differently I think. If you are asking whether you are allowed to use the benefit money towards a car then the answer would be yes. Although no one ever really checks to see what the money is used for it would, if it was checked, be a valid use for it because it helps you get about.

You can use any PIP award for any purpose.
If you are relying on your benefit payment I would be very wary of signing up to any HP or loan that lasts longer the the length of the award.
