    Hi mags and welcome

Is this for ESA or PIP ?

Currently the official figure is 20% are successful.
Unfortunately it it the first part of the appeals process and if unsuccessful you will need the decision letter to appeal to the tribunal where the success rate is around 65%

Hi mags! Don't give up, I was also turned down at this stage so went for tribunal. Guess what? DWP rang yesterday and have changed their decision and awarded higher mobility and personal care for 10 years. I previously had an indefinite DLA award but they changed it to 2 years after the HCP found a cure for MS no one knows about!! Go to tribunal if needs be, they may change their decision before it goes that far as in my case. Good luck

mollymo    well done on your decision change , Can I ask how long you had to wait from  the start of the mandatory reconsideration  to the decision makers reply ,  to proposed appeal and finally to the to DWP change of mind .   hope that makes  sense .
