My mum had her assessment. The lady from Atos seemed lovely she shook our hands on welcome, she noticed my mum had an ailment we never knew about She told my mum on two occasions how poorly she is and disagreed with one particular thing the GP had said in mum's favour.i asked if she could go through the report with us , she said no but we can ask DWP for the report, then she said but I can assure you you have nothing to worry about.i showed her out and at the door she shook my hand and said iv to look after myself .she seemed so nice .Do I ask for the report?

It is always a good idea to ask for the report even if just for your records

The HCP will make the recommendation but it is the DWP Case Manager that makes the award. The CM does not have any medical knowledge and relys on the HCP

Hello, yes , by reading the report you will see what your award should or will be so read carefully and if it looks good then you will have to wait for the official award letter about 6 to 8 weeks in some areas longer, anxious times but if the report is in your favour it's the comfirmation letter that get you down.

I cannot understand. HIP or CM abbreviation .
What does this mean ? -
@Henry
I think someone typed the wrong letters. HP health professional who do the acessment, DWP department of work and pensions, the government department who administered the Benefits PIP,ESA ect. DC decision maker, person who reads acessment report from the HP and makes your award. I hope this helps with the abbreviations people use.
