My daughter who is herself disabled,has a son who was diagnosed at 14 as autistic
.He is now 16 and had his PIP stopped. My daughter appealed and was turned down because he was clean and tidy, can walk and use a microwave to heat prepared meals. Saying he was self sufficent.
His mother washes clothes and keeps him clean and tidy. He can walk perfectly well but has a fear of crossing roads , being out by himself and spends all day in his room. He also has a fear of being stabbed. My Daughter is working herself 3 days a week but is in fear of losing her job because of her disabilities.
Can anyone give me any advice?.
I myself am 80 and also disabled and can't do much to help.

Hi @glossyballs, I'm sorry to hear that your grandson has his PIP stopped- it certainly sounds like you and your family are dealing with a lot at the moment.
We have many friendly members of the community who may be able to share some tips and advice with you, and it might also be a good idea to check that you're claiming all the benefits you may be entitled to. One way of checking this is by using the online benefits calculator: have a go, and do come back to us if you have any questions. -

@glossyballs
Are you going to ask for a mandatory reconsideration and have you asked DWP for a copy of the assessor's report?
