esa and selling my home

hi all i read somewhere that esa have a six month freshold on money that is in the bank that is solely to be used to purchase a new home is there anyone that has had similar experience with this issue or any one that has personally done this themselves that could help or give me any advice please i have lived in my home for a very long time and unfortunately i now need to move to a different area
