Hi. I have suffered with a bad back for almost 16 years. Always worked, just took painkillers to mask it. I got made redundant when the store I  worked in closed. That was June 2016.
I have paid thousands of pounds with my N.I contributions over 20+ years.
Now I can't afford to pay for everyday items as the only benefit I have is the standard rate for living and mobility. I need help to wash, dress, cook, clean, drive you name it. I have a walking stick just to get around the house. Yet I still got refused advanced. I also have terrible depression and severe anxiety. Fibromyalgia and hypothyroidism. Also suicidal due to the pain and loneliness, as I'm housebound with no friends.
Can somebody give me advice with the disability benefit as I feel if I had some interaction with people, or I could afford to pay for a therapist, massage for my back and physio again I'm sure it would help.

    Hi Pain72
Have you tried applying for ESA or JSA.
If you try the online benefits calculator it should tell you what your entitlements are.

Thank you for replying. Yes to both. JSA not suitable, and ESA have denied me twice.
I really need help with this appeal, as I am not accepting it. Will have to go to upper tribunal and I'm all out of fight. Yet I know i should be eligible .

It’s awful that they are treating you like this can you contact the cab they will be able to help with the appeal process it may help if someone steps in as for physio you can ref your self through the national service all doctors have the number they can give you it to call the local council have financial advisors as well free of charge if you let them know your situation they can deal with the benefits agency for you it might help with the stress hope this helps in some way

    Hi Pain72
Can you get either your GP or a specialist medical professional you have dealt with to give you a written statement as to the impact of your conditions. You could try to appeal with extra evidence based on this.

I have done. All the specialist consultants I have seen have been with the pain management team, and got a couple of letters from my doctor. Didnt make a bit of difference . Can't even look into private health care, as all ongoing or chronic illnesses.
