He might be able to get Personal Independence Payments and Employment Support Allowance..

Does he need help at home? If so, with what tasks?

He could do with a motored wheel chair or a scooter to get about as he cant walk distances due to poor mobility and he has a hip infection waiting for treatment from the nhs but he doesnt look after himself that well he misses appointment s forgets to ring gp doesnt want to make a fuss.  He has very little confidence his EUPD makes it hard for him to engage with professionals :(

I would have thought he is entitled to Personal Independence Payment but perhaps consider having someone looking after it for him

Hello a good staring point would be a self test on the benefits and work site to see if you would qualify for PIP, be honest with the self test as you will give yourself a false hope.see if you match any of the descriptors remember you need 8 or more points to be awarded low rate and 12 points for the enhanced award. Good luck in your self test.
