Reasonable adjustments at work?

I work for the ambulance service in an Administration role and Now my disability has become an issue I have faced some real barriers , on returning back from an operation I had to use my annual leave hours so I could shorten my shifts when I returned , this was recommended by Occupational health and my GP that I had  a phased return , it meant I didn’t actually get a holiday that year as I had no hours left!
I am now having a discussion about reasonable adjustments, because they insisted I stayed at home while I waited for a hospital appointment to come through, and it’s because they don’t understand my disability, so I feel I am being discriminated against? Am I being over sensitive?
