Hi everyone my PIP claim is currently at the tribunal centre I have Atypical cleft type 2 I was claiming dla from when I was 18 up until November last year then I was disallowed PIP went through the reconsideration and still disallowed so I appealed but I am still waiting. I work as a lifeguard and drive a Manuel car and just get on with life but there are still many things I struggle with the pip are trying to say I have sufficient amount of grip but find it hard doing things like cutting up meat tying shoe laces I have to have special elastic shoe lases and etc.

Hi @Roberto99, and welcome to the community!
So sorry to hear about your PIP experience, and that you're still waiting- the waiting time can be really difficult to deal with but it's good to hear that you're trying your best to get on with things. Have you tried contacting the DWP for an update on your appeal? -
Sorry my appeal is a paper hearing but I did phone the DPW and they just said when they’ll write to me the same time they write to them I’ve attached pictures of my disability and hopefully that will be enough to give me the award

@Roberto99
Sorry to hear of your problems, but have to say reading your story things don't look as if you will get an award as I exspect you could do all the descriptors in the pip acessment which are totally different than DLA so harder to get the points to get an award. Best wishes. -
Well I have been thinking that but although I have a minor disability compared to some people out there it is a life time disability I was born with and isn’t going to get better all I can do is hope really

Be all you can be, make every day count. Namaste

Yeah I score 10 points on but they wouldnt agree to some of the things I’d put like on the dressing and undressing part I put down lower body which is 2 points and upper body is 4 points they only gave me lower body even tho I have to leave shirts buttoned up and slip them over my head like a jumper

It would be interesting if ppl with a disability similar to mine have got an award
