Hi I would like to know if anyone has been to a PIP assessment when they have taken strong painkillers I.e the side effects of drowsiness etc as I have a shoulder that hurts so bad so on occasion I take codeine but only if really necessary. Should I tell the assessor?

Is this a prescibed medication or over the counter ?
you should only take medication as you would normally, do not take extra because of your assessment

you don't need to tell them, if your medication is prescribed they will know from the forms you fill in before hand because it does ask what tablets your on, how offen you take them

I didn't take my medication before assessment as I wanted to feel my pain so it could be seen. Unfortunately it made absolutely no difference to the outcome. Had to attend tribunal where there was a qualified medic who understood my condition and was granted high on both mobility and care.
