Caring for my wife

My wife and I are in our late sixties 68 to be exact
 I have been told I can't have any help for my wife up to now I have bought Mobil scooter bath chair and stair lift I have worked long hours since i was 16 years old around fifty to seventy hours a wk for all the years I have worked and the only thing I could get for my wife was a stool so she could sit in the shower I did get a blue badge but that cost me £10 yet some people  get all sorts I just wondered why I am retired and I have full time looking after my wife seems so unfair

    It's clear that you care about your wife a lot and you're doing your best to help her. Could you let us know if you claim any benefits? You may want to look at our benefits calculator to check what you may be eligible for, and also search for grants to help cover any other equipment needs.

    Caring can feel really isolating and you've done the right thing by reaching out and asking for help. You might also like to check out Carers UK who have some great info and resources for people who are carers.
