Hello Bribrituk and welcome
Does your friend claim PIP ?
If your friend needs a scooter then they may also qualify for a PIP award, The higher rate would allow your friend to lease one through the motorbility scheme

Hi @Bribrituk
It’s great to meet you this afternoon.
Is you’re friend on any Benefit’s ????
If not have applied for any in the past ????
Are they looking to purchase one ?????
If so do they want a new one or second hand ???
Sorry for for all the questions !!!!!! -
Hi @Bribrituk
What sort of support does your friend get?Scope

Hi @Bribrituk
If you friend can't afford to buy a scooter privately they may which to apply for charitable funding from an organisation such as the Mobility Trust:
On the Scope website there is also a grant search tool that might assist them with identifying others charities
https://www.scope.org.uk/support/disabled-people/search-grants
People on the correct benefits sometimes also obtain a scooter via Motability:
For some people hiring a scooter is a good option. Several companies do this but here is an example:
Your friend may also be interested in this
Hope this helps

Hi @Panda70
Thank you for your feedback. Whilst you are awaiting a decision on your new PIP claim it might be worth using the links above to see if you can get any charitable assistance with buying a scooter. Having the ability to get out and about can really enhance people's wellbeing.

I have mobility scooters for sale due to my dad having a terminal illness. One is a larger 4 wheel type which will carry up to 25 stone, and another smaller one which we use to put in the back of our car.
