I have just been awarded enhanced mobility.
What could this mean in relation to a blue badge or a car lease. (I do not have a diving licence)

Does anyone use public transport/ taxis instead?
I do not know where the driver of the vehicle is meant to come from?
No family around me and friends work, have their own lives or issues.
Do not follow me, I don't know where I am going.

You can spend the money on what you like - you don't have to get a car or a blue badge.  I think there is still a scheme whereby you can a get a disabled taxi card and get 1/3rd off a certain number of taxi fares per year.  You can't have a taxi card and blue badge at the same time.  Details of the taxi card should either be on gov.uk or on your local authority website or both or google disabled taxi card.

Hello there, as already mentioned by others you can spend the cash on whatever you like but it's still a good idea to get yourself a 'Blue Badge' as you never know when you might need/benefit from it, best wishes Whistles

The taxis appear to be in London only, unless I haven't read it properly.

This applies to the rail card. I was eligible already for this, didn't know until just checked.

There has to be hundreds of people out there that don't know what help is available.

You can use enhanced mobility to lease a scooter or electric wheelchair from Motability.

You can use your Blue Badge while being a passenger in some one else's car.  Makes life a lot easier to have the badge!  :)

The blue badge is for the person named and shown on the badge by a photograph. It's for the sole use of the badge holder regardless of who's or which car they are driving or a passenger in. A detailed hand booklet is given to each new badge holder explaining all the correct uses of the badge.

A badge sounds a simpler option than actually having a car.

Yes, Take the Money, obtain the Blue  badge, and take some time and  shop around, talk  to other people in a similar situation as yourself and THEN think about spending the money, that's best  for you in your area...

Can't afford to do the car lease option. So that's out.

Whistles...Ok that's your considered choice,So Motability is out then,  as its a  3 year lease type agreement, sometimes extendable...
So Get the Badge, take the money and do as is best for your condition and location. Then YOU will be in total control with lots of time to evaluate the present and the future..
    I wish you luck..
