Abbreviations on the community

Abbreviations (shortened versions of a word or phrase) are often used by community members in discussions. It's recently been brought to our attention that having a post listing these abbreviations and what they stand for could be useful, and help to avoid confusion. 

Benefits:

PIP- Personal Independence Payments
DLA- Disability Living Allowance
ESA- Employment Support Allowance
WRAG- Work Related Activity Group
AA- Attendance Allowance
SMI - Support for Mortgage Interest
UC- Universal Credit

Organisations:

DWP- Department for Work and Pensions
CAB- Citizens Advice
B&W- Benefits and Work
HCPC- Health and Care Professions Council
CAMHS- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
CCG- Clinical Commissioning Group

Specific impairments:

CP - Cerebral Palsy
ASD- Autism Spectrum Disorders
ADD- Attention Deficit Disorder
AHDH- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
ODD- Oppositional Defiant Disorder
PDA- Pathological Demand Avoidance
HI- Hearing Impairment
VI- Visual Impairment

People:

OT- Occupational Therapist
SLT- Speech and Language Therapist

Education and Employment:

SEN- Special Educational Needs
EHCP- Educational Health and Care Plan
DEA- Disability Employment Advisor 

Other:

DM - Decision Maker
CM - Case Manager
F2F - Face to Face

    1) PA1 – Review file note
    2) PA2 – Review report form (terminal illness)
    3) PA3 – Review report form (paper-based review)
    4) PA4 – Consultation report form
    5) PA5 – Supplementary advice note
    6) PA6 – Supplementary advice note (change of advice)
    7) PA7 – Harmful information note

    SOW  = Sex on Wheels (how all users of wheels should feel. Fanfabulous!*) 

    WOP = World of Pain..... I. E. A bad dsy

    DP  = Darn Pedestrian ... Those ones who are trying to help hut... eerrr.. I don't need help as I am flying today.... Yes... I'm still slower than you but that doesn't mean I'm not having a totally awesome Fanfabulous tip top** time. Stop telling me I need to overtake you or push me into the disabled toilets....

    OK... So maybe some of these are just mine.... 

    * oops... I'm up in the night a little dosed up as I'm sore... And er... I may have over done watching Queer Eye. 

    ** yes the Fab Five have really got into my vernacular... But it's also imprinting me to be the best I can every day, elevating how I present myself and blah blah blah....

    LADO- local authority designated officer
    NS- neurosurgeon
    PMR- physical medicine rehab doctor
    WU- wheelchair user
    CF- clubbed feet
    HKAFOs- hip knee ankle foot orthotics
    SB- spina bifida
    MH- mental health issues
    CQC- care quality commission
    NHS- national health service
    GP- general practitioner 
    PI- physical impairment
    LD- learning difficulty/disability
    SW- social worker
