hi
i am 63 and have CP which affects my hips and legs.
i have high muscle tone and since January I have had pain in my lower back, buttock And left leg which means I cannot walk without 2 sticks and even so a very short distance without being in a lot of pain.
has anyone got any ideas how I can rectify this please.

Hi @yvetteO
Good Afternoon & Welcome.
It’s Great to meet you today.
I have had Chronic Pain since 2005 following another Brain Opp.
I would be more than happy in helping/supporting you in anyway????? -
Hello @yvetteO and welcome to the community. Glad to have you with us, but sorry to hear about your pain issues. I am not, myself, best able to advise you, but I know there are many here who will be able to. Please bear with us and someone will get back to you on this.
Do you have any particular form of 'rectification' in mind, I wonder? Is this about aids and adaptations, about medication or strategies? It might help us to get to the right answers for you.
And you might like to have a look at one or two of our forums on here. This is a guide to them all https://community.scope.org.uk/categories and you might, in particular, have a look at 'Dealing with Chronic Pain' here https://community.scope.org.uk/categories/chronicpain
I hope this is of some help to you and please don't hesitate to be in touch if it is not or if you have any other thoughts on how we might help.
Very warmest best wishes to you

Hi @yvetteO, and welcome! As Richard says, you may like to check out the chronic pain category linked above, and we also have a friendly chronic pain advisor who would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi @yvetteO
I'm sorry to read that you are experiencing pain whilst walking. Have you discussed this problem with your G.P? If you use orthotics, when was the last time that they were reviewed. I apologise for the questions but your answers will help me to direct you.
