Hi Nero and welcome
No there is no easy benefit guide
The two main benefits are
ESA for people unable to work due to Illness or disability
PIP for people that need help with daily tasks and/or mobility
If you can tell us a little more we can try and help
CR

Hi@Nero..... https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators is a reasonable place to start, and your local council website may be able to advise also. It's all a bit of a minefield so try googling as well. You don't need to put in your real details if you have security worries but you may get pointed in the right direction.
Best wishes.

Hi Nero,
As CR suggests, the two main benefits to be looking at are Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) and Personal Independence Payment (PIP), also Housing Benefit (HB) (if you rent) and Council Tax Reduction (CTR), both of which can be claimed from your local council.
With the exception of PIP, these benefits are subject to an income/capital assessment which applies to your household (i.e. yourself and any partner you may have).
Have a look on the entitledto calculator to see what you think https://www.entitledto.co.uk/ also the benefits and work PIP self-test is useful https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-independence-payment-pip/pip-self-test
If you want to see someone face to face, your local AgeUK may be able to help you https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-independence-payment-pip/pip-self-test or perhaps your local citizens advice.
Best wishes,
Mary
