Appeal waiting date?

I have just come across this site and wondered if any one has any advice, my husband was receiving dla from 2007 both care and mobility then had to transfer to pip after a medical assessment last October they decided he was entitled to middle care [he was getting higher] and no points for mobility although he has spine problems degenerative disc disease slipped discs and numerous other health problems our gp wrote in a letter of support to them, so we asked for mandatory reconsideration and they still said he was not entitled to mobility we appealed and received a letter December 5th saying that had received the appeal and will contact us when the date is, we are still waiting, is this correct the amount of time he has waited? thanks in advance
