I feel my daughter isn't coping well. Her 8yr old son has cerebral Palsy and she is great with him but she is very low, her partner isn't any help and she seems to be resenting her son's disability as it is stopping her from doing things. She has 2 other children

    Hi @Nannathree
Thanks for your post. I'm sorry to read that your daughter is going through a tough time at the moment. How do you feel she is not coping?

I am going to include a link here to the Parent and Carer section of the Community
    https://community.scope.org.uk/categories/carers-of-disabled-children-and-adults

Also, the charity MIND has some excellent tips

    https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/helping-someone-else/

Is your daughter in contact with any local groups at all?

I hope that helps a little. Keep in touch.

Thank you for your reply. My daughter isn't in contact with any groups. She feels she is asking for sympathy and she is also very stubborn so tries to deal with it alone.
I try my best to get through to her but as I don't have any experience of dealing with a disabled child I'm not sure how to help and I back off when I see her getting upset.

Everybody needs some support every now and then @Nannathree. Have you told her about the Community here? She could join and meet people in very similar situations. She does not need to use her real name.

We're always here @Nannathree. I have Cerebral Palsy myself and I am 1 of 4 children so I have some understanding of what she is dealing with by seeing what my mum dealt with.
