I am going to my 2 assessment after 3 years next friday but i have a problem with my gp and he doesn’t write anything to support me because simply he doesn’t believe me that i have serious problem. Is anyone knowing what should i do for support letter? please let me know thank you so much
What benefit is this for ? Many GP's now cannot or won't give letters of support so you are not on your own. It is not essential to have a supporting letter from your GP, many claims have been won without any medical evidence at all Don't try to squeeze your answers into the boxes, instead wite or print your answers on sheets that you attach to the back of the forn. Write your name and NIN on each sheet and number eacg page 1 of 10, 3 of 10 etc Put a reference in the form box to the relevant page and paragraph
Which benefit? Disability benefits are based on the consequences of your conditions not the conditions themselves. Neither ESA nor PIP require a diagnosis. They do require real symptoms derived from something mental or physical. Where your GP is at odds with you over diagnosis you simply need confirmation from any other specialists you see. If you don’t have that then there’s a whole other discussion to be had.
There are many many reasons why a GP may not supportive. Perish the thought but one of them is that in their professional view you do not have what you think you have. GPs, like anyone, can be wrong but it’s not automatically the case most of the time. Equally many practices genuinely don’t have the time abd ithers have received regional advice which is easy enough to misconstrue (or twist). As I say, many many reasons.
If you don't see your GP regular about your condition then this is why most will not be supportive
This is where I think the system is all wrong ( not a dig at you @dee4848 ) but I was seriously mentally ill and lucky to visit GP once a year as quite frankly did want to be a bother.
Yet there are people like my friends son, who is bone idle ,with no intention of getting a job and wishing to make a lifestyle choice, living on benefits .
and he haunts the surgery on a weekly basis and working his way through the medical dictionary and there’s is nothing wrong with him ,as he’s quite happy to smoke and party and enjoy a full social life and Hevesy is greatly upset at “only getting” ( his words, not mine) universal credit.
I think GPS should be taken out of the equation totally and medical evidence should be your own words in how your condition affects you plus input from a specialist or consultant which shows you really are ill.
Sorry but this business of going to the GP at the drop of a hat really boils my onion.....rant over.
Well that’s amused me no end. Taking the GP out of the equation is pretty much what ESA and PIP are designed to do but, no, along come claimants demanding that their GP is involved and then changing their minds when their GP has a different perspective!
