I'm sorry you are suffering so much pain. Ask your GP to refer you to a spinal unit.  Meanwhile, freeze spray, heat pads and a hot water bottle might help.

Have you been to your gp? Please see the threads on chronic pain. I like microwave heat pads with wheat or rice. You can put them where the pain is. That’s on top of pain meds. It’s worth a go. If it’s a sudden thing I would ring NHS 24 for advice . Good luck

I think they use trial and error to get you on the right meds.

Tell your g p that the meds aren’t working and you need a specialist. If they are anything like mine they put you off for as long as they can as I think it costs money. In the meantime they can offer other meds and they should be suggesting a physiotherapy referral. You may think right now you can’t do physio but it may take a long time to get an appointment anyway. Just keep making appointments to see the doctor and try other doctors for a second opinion. I couldn’t take the meds they gave me for sciatica at the time and they changed them for something I could take. Is it just you looking after your children? Maybe they can’t give you meds as you might get drowsy? Do you have someone to help you? I find with my g p I have to write down what I want to talk to them about and I tell them these are my issues and I would like them addressed. That usually works better for me. Good luck

I'm so sorry to hear about your pain, @Chickygirl80. I hope at the very least you find comfort in being a part of our community and talking with others who understand.
