I have to say I was a bit concerned that there is no criteria for this. It's a shame to think that people will use and abuse, but they do.
So  they will need to rethink some sort of list as they have for the free bus pass. The trains get packed so to some that's a free seat.

Never heard of the pregnancy badge. I didn't think that was an impaired condition, I thought that was all part of normal life.
If people don't offer a seat it's shameful to considered human!

I’m wondering if people will think this is some kind of trend and eventually loads of people eg- students will be wearing them
some idiotic people have now started to put assistance dogs leads on normal pet dogs so that they can take them into a shop.
its obvious that the dog is not trained.
but if people can do a horrible thing like that, I can see people buying these badges off a market stall soon
I don't notice assistance dogs anymore.
    Why.
Because companies and people have a worded dog collar with  the harness. They also sell coats that look like assistance but it says, nervous, in training, deaf, don't stroke me.  Referring to the dog.

In my opinion there should only be a service/ assistance dog product. Because seeing all those others reducing my alertness.

Hello @Sam_Scope Great post love this idea.  Personally never used the bus for ages. Mind you if and when I do always give my seat up. Anyway.

Especially either to the elderly or others who are struggling. Mother and Child, shopping.

    Being a gent

Do not think we have them around here. North East.

I teach my kids to stand up if ANY adult gets on the bus and don't have a seat, for me that is basic manners.  Unfortunately there are a lot of people who wouldnt think about giving their seat up for someone else.

My friend lives in London and works in the city, even at 8 months pregnant she would be left standing on the tube as others avoid eye contact.

I think we all need to be a bit kinder and think of others :)

I think if I visited a city I would be shocked.
@Victoriad this train I promised to get on, are some days quiet? Non rush hour peak.
Is it more money on a Sunday for example.

    Gosh man in uniform.
    When is the next train!!
    Seriously though will start small.
Do the train drivers where a uniform now that might get me onboard quicker.
Weather here is still rubbish and cold. It does need to be off peak nice day.

This is a fantastic idea ? it should have been done a long time ago, it’s great if it takes off and should be available to all disabled people that need it but really disabled people shouldn’t need to ware a badge able people should offer there seat anyway. Love it keep pushing to be come the normal. One thing i have noted is people are very friendly and helpful with disabled people like myself that are in a wheelchair . Looks like word is getting round that we all can live together as one and in the community.

The problem with badge is the abuse it would get.
Already we have none disabled people who dump themselves in diabled parking bays forceing diabled people to have to struggel  longer distances.
And none disabled greedy people who dump themselves in disabled loos risking disabled people will wet themselves.
People are greedy and know disabled can NOT defend our selves
