Hi my brother is 59 years old he has had a kiddny removed 3 weeks ago .becouse he has cancer he also has it on his lungs witch he is starting treatment for next week he gets sick pay from his work but it is only half pay wot is he in titalled to clam please

Hi,
If the cancer diagnosis is terminal (6 months or less) then he'll be able to claim PIP under the special rules. For this they would need to get their GP/Consultant to fill in the DS1500 form. If not then PIP is possible with the normal claim process. See here all about PIP.

There's also a PIP self test that can be completed online that will give some idea what can be scored. Bear in mind that this is a guide only and an award would depend on evidence etc.

PIP isn't means tested so any other income from a partner doesn't matter.
For ESA then this maybe possible once their sick pay/SSP has ended.
For any other benefit help then ask them to put all their details into a benefits calculator and it will tell them what they could possibly claim.
