hi in November 2016 I had a shoulder op and was off work fir six months. I claimed esa but after 13 weeks I had to go to a medical assessment and wastge esa was stopped, despite having a sick note for another 14 weeks off work, as it was deemed I could do other work. I am a plasterer I Aldo have psoriatic arthritis which affects my hands knees and hips
I am due to have my right shoulder operated on in July this year and I am concerned the same will happen with benefits again.
I would also like advice on claiming pip as I struggle to do intricate things like doing buttons up. Holding cutlery sorting my medication I cannot walk far without pain either

Hi @panda56, and welcome! I hope we can help.
Sorry to hear about your ESA, did you appeal the decision? You may find Scope's guidance on DWP appeals helpful.
You can also find more information about applying for PIP here, and begin the application process here. Many of our members have been through the process themselves, so do come back to us with any questions and we'll do our best to help! -
Hi didn’t appeal the decision as didn’t think it was as worth the hassle or be successful. Will check out applying for pip but am unsure as one medical assessment re the esa already failed
