Hi All,
I use a compression sock (custom made for me and recommended by a tissues viability nurse) to help alleviate swollen feet. Does this qualify as an 'aid or appliance' for answering question 5a about monitoring a health condition or managing a home treatment?
Thanks. ?

According to the benefits and work website:
What does ‘aid or appliance’ mean for personal independence payment (PIP)?
It’s important to understand that ‘aid or appliance’ has a particular legal definition for the purposes of personal independence payment (PIP). The law states that “aid or appliance”:
(a) means a device to improve, provide or replace a physical or mental function;
(b) includes a prosthesis; and
(c) does not include an aid or appliance ordinarily used by a person without a physical or mental condition which limits that person’s ability to carry out daily living or mobility activities.Scope

Sounds to me it would or should as a normal able bodied person would not need use one.

Interesting but it made me even more confused. I think I've lots a few million brain cells in the last week!
@Sam_Scope I think a compression sock could be classed as a device to improve physical function. ?

Thanks, I've had a cup of tea and a re-read and it makes way more sense. ?
