good morning fellow scopers anyone know current waiting time for carer allowance desicion and do you normally get payment before letter

    Hi,

    A Carers Allowance claim can take anything between 8-12 weeks. You'll receive a letter a few weeks after applying but payment usually takes a while after that. Do you claim any other benefit like JSA, IS or ESA? If you do then the CA will mean you'll be £36 per week better off.

    The Carers Allowance will be taken off the UC amount and a Carers element will be added. Carers Allowance will then pay your carer that amount. Works out they will be £156 per month better off.
